Genotoxic activity in human faecal water and the role of bile acids: a study using the alkaline comet assay

Faecal samples were collected and kept on ice before processing. Samples were homogenized in a stomacher for 2 minutes in a Stomacher® 400.
The results of the present study indicate that the comet assay provides a powerful tool to investigate the genotoxicity of faecal water samples in a human colonic tumour cell line.
