The Stomacher® Circulator principle improves organism recovery over older square paddle designs by enhancing the stirring and extrusion forces applied to the Stomacher® Bag contents.

This is achieved by the combination of curved paddles, the central island baffle and the round bottomed Stomacher® Bag.

In operation the paddles crush the sample but also circulate the bag contents. The circulating action enhances the washing action applied to the sample debris as it is crushed. The result is more organisms driven into suspension.

If the organisms are not released from the sample matrix they will not grow or multiply in any subsequent culturing or selective isolation procedure.

Numerous studies have now been completed demonstrating this enhancement as a positive benefit to pathogen testing procedures in traditional microbiology and PCR based techniques.
